The Vandamme Group is a family company active in the production and refining of vegetable oils. Our involvement in vegetable oils goes back to 1903.

The origin of the Vandamme group dates back to 1903, when Louis Vandamme bought an oil and flour mill in Zulte. Louis himself was already a third-generation miller. Located in the very heart of the flax region along the Leie, it processed linseed from local flax growers.

When the flax sector gradually dwindled in Flanders in the sixties and seventies, the company switched to other oil seeds. With the rise of the starch industry, which received a major boost through the launch of sweeteners based on corn (glucose, followed by fructose syrups), more types of corn germ became available on the market and processing these became more highly specialised.  Together with our customers, we evolved into more specialised oils, such as HO sunflower oil and non-GMO soya oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids. The factory in Hungary is also one of the main producers of European non-GMO soya bean meal pellets. The factory is committed to non-GMO and it operates under the Donau Soya brand. Both factories are FCA/GMP+ and FSSC22000 certified.
